John Litras is a registered Psychologist with over 16 years clinical experience in private practice and has a specialist interest in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and stress difficulties. 

In his private practice, John works with people who are referred through  Medicare, NDIS, TAC, Workcover and Victims Assistance Program and treatment is provided in person or via Telehealth.

John has worked in public mental health assisting people diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Affective Disorder and Substance Use Disorders. 

John is Psychology Board-approved supervisor and has provided supervision to psychologists and allied health professionals. 

John’s approach to treatment is practical-providing useful strategies to assist in managing symptoms. The therapeutic relationship will be collaborative – with the hope that when a client feels supported and understood they can make sustained change. 

All of us are shaped by our childhood experiences. Client’s are invited to explore how their childhood has impacted on them as adults if they wish to do so. This is done in a supportive and gentle manner. 

John’s therapeutic background draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  He also is trained in providing Eye Movement Desensitising Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) in the treatment of trauma.
